Task to the film "the imitation game"
task 6.  Why do you think British Secret Service erased all traces of Turing's machine after the war was won?

Why they erased all traces of the machines existents is because they didn’t want the world to know that they had broken a code that supposedly was unbreakable. I think that they did this so that if the time came, where they had to break another code they could do so by making another machine.

American dream

What is the American dream for the average person today?
Note: These numbers are from 2009 and may not show exactly how things are today.
One could think that the American dream is something that doesn’t fit with reality, different articles and examinations has shown something quite different: About 45% of Americans say they have achieved their dream, 31% think they are going to achieve it within their lifetime and 20% has given up on their dream. This is actually an increase from 4 years earlier (2005), where fewer thought they were going to achieve it.
It is said that in hard times, people tend to cling harder to their dreams; often those dreams also turn into more abstract goals rather than material.
Therefore, if anyone wonders if people still believe in the American dream, the answer is yes. Even though the definition of what the dream is has changed greatly.

A quote by Oscar Wilde

I chose the quote "The truth is rarely pure and never simple", because I find it somewhat true. I get this feeling that we lie to eachother to cover up what we dont want to come out, and we to keep it uncovered we lie even more. But we all know that one day a lie will come to light and when it dose we will get another lie

A letter from Nazneen’s sister Hasina ( the book brick lane)

Creative stunts

Task 1

A letter from Nazneen’s sister Hasina.

Dear Nazneen, our mother is down with fever. This leaves a lot of work for me. There are food to be cooked and dishes to wash, tables to clean. I was eavesdropping on a conversation where our dad said something about another wedding.  I am worried what happened to you may happened to me. You know having a forced marriage. I do not know what to do. I know that I cannot get married until I am 18 years old, but the thought of being given away. Well it’s not something I look forward to.

The food prices is getting sky high, and dad has to work twice as hard. More than once he hasn’t come home. What he have told me he began to work in the mines again. We had quite an argument, you see there have been quite recently a few bombs near the roads, so naturally I was worried.  I even said I was willing to go work in the carpet factory, but our father denied me to do so.

You are probably worried sick, that may be a reason to write you this letter to stop you from doing something stupide. I am doing fine, I hope mom soon gets better it would get a lot easier and I would go back to work and our economy would be better. There are all sort of things to do before it gets to cold (the winter). But you know all this, all the time you helped mom harvesting and tending to the animals.

I hope we keep in touch, but if you can do anything to maybe talk our parents out of giving me away, it would mean a lot to me. I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope we will see each other again.
